April 9th 2014. Hawaiian Royalty. A minisheet containing 8 stamps was issued on April 9th 2014 which depicts all eight monarchs of the Kingdom of Hawai'i. It is the last issue of Hawai'i Post so it is a very fitting end to the 15-year old local post. The $2.50 stamp (right stamp, top row) prepays additional charges such as extra weight. It shows a portrait of King Kamehameha IV. The $3 stamp (left stamp, bottom row) prepays the difference between the Overnight rate and the Same Day rate. It shows a portrait of King Kamehameha V. The two $6 stamps prepay the Overnight rate. The third stamp on the top row shows a portrait of King Kamehameha III. The second stamp on the bottom row shows a portrait of King Lunalilo. The two $9 stamps prepay the Same Day rate. The second stamp on the top row shows a portrait of King Kamehameha II. The third stamp on the bottom row shows a portrait of King Kalakaua. The two $11.50 stamps prepay the Same Day rate for 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds). The top left stamp shows a portrait of King Kamehameha 1st. The bottom right stamp shows a portrait of Queen Lili'uokalani. The special postmark for this issue shows the Royal Crown of the Hawaiian Monarchy which was made in England.
