The special cachet above shows a newsclipping from "The Polynesian" newspaper of January 31 1852 with details of the sailing of the S.S. Constitution. The special postmark for the above cover was issued for January 31 2002 only. The outer circle reads "FIRST PADDLE-STEAMSHIP SERVICE / HONOLULU, O'AHU" or "LAHAINA MAUI". Covers were made in white only. The cachet shows the 2002 Christmas tree at Honolulu Hale (City Hall). The special postmark in green was first issued on December 3rd 2002 and has a variable date. The upper circle reads "WAIKIKI, O'AHU HAWAI'I POST". The lower circle reads " MELE KALIKIMAKA & HAU'OLI MAKAHIKI HOU". The center of the circle above the date shows a depiction of Santa Claus.
